The Sacraments

Find preparation steps, parish contacts, important dates, and resources for each sacrament.

Baptism

Contact the parish before choosing dates or making plans so the team can explain preparation and scheduling.

First Reconciliation & First Communion

Children must be in second grade or older, baptized, and have completed two years of religious instruction. A parent attends one information meeting in the fall.

  • Return the registration form with a baptism certificate.
  • Materials: $70 for one child, $110 for two, or $140 for three or more.
  • Adults: contact Annie Adams at (302) 731-2200.

Confirmation

Youth Confirmation is planned for 2027; September 2026 registration dates are to be announced. Candidates must be entering eighth grade or older, be enrolled in religious education or Catholic school this year and the prior year, and have received Baptism and First Communion. Candidate and parent attend a fall 2026 information meeting.

Marriage

Contact the parish before selecting a wedding date so there is enough time for preparation and scheduling.

Holy Orders

If you are discerning priesthood or religious life, the Diocese of Wilmington Vocations Office can help you take the next step.

Anointing of the Sick

Do not wait until the final moments of life to request the sacrament. Contact the parish when serious illness, surgery, advanced age, or declining health creates a need for Christ’s healing presence.

Not sure where to begin?

The parish office can help you understand preparation, timing, and the right contact.
